Financial Literacy & Entrepreneurship

Financial literacy is essential in meeting the financial challenge of the 21st Century. The competencies, which form the basis for this coaching module, will enable coachees to learn more about the financial system with some of the focus being on:

  • The career decision making process
  • Money management – including budgeting, banking, saving, and investing 
  • Credit management 
  • Understand the traits, skills, attitudes and drive necessary to be a successful entrepreneur

Fostering Healthy Relationships

Relationships are based on some commonly accepted values (e.g., respect, honesty, equity, consideration, commitment) and healthy relationships result in mental-emotional, social, and physical benefits.

In this coaching module Coachees will learn how to:

  • Examine the characteristics and benefits of healthy and unhealthy relationships
  • Effective communication, including mode and style of communication in a relationship
  • The mental/emotional, social, and physical benefits of healthy relationships
  • The controllable and uncontrollable factors affecting the dynamics of relationships
  • Selecting the right friends to form a relationship

Time Maximization

Time is a currency and how you spend it will determine your return on your investment.  Everyone has been allotted the same time 24 hours in each day and how you spend it is all up to you.  People often refer to time management, but the question is can you manage what you have no control over?  You can only control what you own, and no one owns time.  So, the question is, is it really time management or time maximization?  Time Maximization is just what it is, maximizing the time you have been allotted. 

In this coaching module coachees will learn:

  • How to use their hours efficiently in achieving success at their current level and for their university/college years
  • How to meet the demands of their studies – work out what needs to be done and when
  • Overcome procrastination quickly and easily
  • Handle unexpected barriers and distractions
  • Use routines to make their lives run smoother

Cultivating A Positive Mindset

Your mind is likened to that of the Central Processing Unit (CPU) of a computer.  It controls you, whether positively or negatively.

In this coaching module, coachees will learn:

  • Who and what influences their thinking
  • How their attitude contributes to a positive mindset
  • Factors that influence attitude
  • The power of self-talk and how it helps to cultivate a positive mindset

Leadership & Communication

With support and encouragement, every young person has the potential to become a leader in some area of their life. In this coaching module coaches will learn the intricacies of leadership which includes: 

  • Defining and understanding leadership 
  • Discovering personality traits and how they relate to leadership
  • Learn communication skills necessary for effective leadership
  • Learn effective decision-making methods for individuals and groups
  • Practice working with others and leading a group

Etiquette

Etiquette generally refers to the various manners and behaviors prescribed by and observed in social and business life. In this coaching module Coachees will learn more about:

  • Social Skills
  • Dining etiquette
  • Personal Image – dressing the part (social and business), walking, standing, hand placement ect.
  • Basic life skills – making a bed, cleaning one’s room, cooking basic meals 
  • The importance of personal hygiene 
  • Business communication  
  • Social Media Platforms

Nutrition

Nutrition is the study of food and how foods are taken into the body to build, nourish and repair the body.  In this coaching module Coachees will learn the importance of:

  • Introduction to Nutrition
  • Poverty vs Behavior
  • A Balanced Diet
  • Is Nutrition a contributor of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)?
  • Nutrition and Obesity
  • Foods Children Should be Eating
  • Food/Mood Connection
